Our Story
Our collective started in an Eltham family home pottery studio in 2024. Tommy, who lives with a disability, had been a keen potter of several years. Marielle, his mother, was also a ceramicist and experiences some disability.
Together they went on a journey to create a supportive community to help potters and artists elevate and celebrate their work like the professionals they were becoming. A community which was a resilient social network embedded with structure, support and a long-term vision to assist artists to make, display and sell their work. To feel a sense of belonging in a community where differences are celebrated and the main expectation for members is to feel safe and happy.

Tommy chose the name 'Moons of Neptune Ceramic Collective’ because of his love of space and from here we started slowly building our grass roots collective. It will take time, and we have much to learn but we will shoot for the stars and most probably end up somewhere in the orbit of Neptune. As a wise man (Buzz Lightyear) once said: “To infinity and beyond!” And we can always give it a go.
Jessie Pittard and then Lily Lindsay from Blaze Ceramics joined our growing team. Eventually we partnered with Alyssa Potter at Clae Space studio to start running classes.

We embrace all abilities, disabilities, all identities within the gender identity spectrum, cultures etc …. Everyone is welcome!
We offer pathways to be supported and to support others in making, displaying and selling our work. Our collective will be attending markets and partnering with local businesses to display and sell work. We have an online gallery and shop that members can access to display and sell some of their pottery and art. Join us for our annual exhibition!
