What's Happening

We aim to provide many opportunities to come together and be creative for members. Some members may want to join us for a class, workshop, market stall opportunity or social outing. We are creating exciting partnerships with local artists to run creative events.

All Abilities Pottery Class

We are partnering with Alyssa Potter from Clae Space studio to run “All Abilities” 8 week term pottery classes for adults on Saturdays 2pm to 4pm. Dates for term three are 26th July to 13th September. Dates for term four are 11th of October to 22nd of November. Dates for 2026 to be released soon.

This is a supportive, inclusive hand building class for adults. Support workers and carers are welcome to attend free of charge. Alyssa and Marielle aim to create a fun, friendly and safe space for everyone – whether you have a disability, are neurodivergent, have a hidden disability, have sensory needs or no disability and just want to join in.

Wood and Raku firing with Jack Latti

We are partnering with Jack Latti from Studio Nioka in Research to run workshops in alternative firing methods such as raku and wood firing.

Jack is sensitive to a diverse range of people and is a seasoned expert in conducting his workshops safely and with other people’s needs in mind. Students who may require some additional support on the day are encouraged to attend with a support worker or carer (who are welcome free of charge). At least one of the team from our collective will be present at each workshop we organise to help communicate any additional requirements our members may have.

Join us to learn and experiment with raku firing!

Students will receive guidance on different raku glazing techniques and get to experiment with over eight specialised raku glazes. Then watch as Jack loads our pieces into raku kilns and see them transform before our eyes. This is a fast paced and captivating firing process with dazzlingly results.

Wood firing workshops will be offered throughout the year to learn about the specific clay types to use and forms to make which are best suited to wood firing. Jack will inspire and help guide students to make pots to be fired inside his huge Anagama kiln.

We will also be hosting shorter tailored sessions with Jack where students are guided to use Jack’s specialised wood fire glazes on their already made and bisque fired pieces to be included in the wood fire.

For more information or to let us know you would be interested in joining us at one of Jack’s workshops please contact us at moonsofneptuneceramics@gmail.com
